The Parent Association sponsors events throughout the school year to further promote and strengthen the community amongst parents, teachers and children. Our joint efforts benefit the educational and cultural development of our students. Parents are always welcomed to join the association, to share ideas and be a part of the decision making process.


Our goal is to make every experience and event a success for the benefit of our school. Our focus is on making our community stronger, involving everyone, and making our children proud. We rely on our school faculty and staff to inform us of our immediate school needs; our vision is for complete parent communication and involvement.



The Parent Association currently meets the second Wednesday of the month from 8:15 – 9:00 am in the Library. On meeting days, early arrival drop-off is available for preschool parents at no charge.



While all parents are part of the PA, not all can be involved or need to be involved in all aspects. We have established various committees to entice all levels of interest. We encourage and welcome your participation on one or more of the PA committees as follows: Community Service, Events, Annual GALA (Night Under the Stars), Fundraising, and Faculty Appreciation.

Dear Parents:


On behalf of the Parents Association, I would like to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school year. My name is Carmen Rodriguez-Altieri, a/k/a Gabriella Perez’s mom, and I am the Miami Shores Presbyterian Church School (MSPCS) Parents Association (PA) President for the 2018-2019 school year.


The MSPCS PA is an inclusive, voluntary association comprised of parents of students enrolled at the school. It plays an important role in facilitating a strong bond among parents and within the larger MSPCS community. PA events support the educational objectives of the school, provide volunteer services, assist in fundraising activities and most importantly, build community.


Some of the events we are planning for next year are The Welcome Back BBQ, Gallery Night, Parent Social Nights, Book Fairs and our annual fundraising party for a cause, the Night Under the Stars. All of these activities cannot take place without your participation and hard work.


Our volunteers have made the PA events in the past very special year after year.  Parents find volunteering and being active members of the PA community a rewarding and enriching experience for themselves and their children. I know it has been for me this past year. We encourage and welcome your participation on one or more of the PA committees.


My hope is to have fundraising, community service, social and educational committees that will entice all levels of interest. You can participate as little or as much as your schedule allows. Volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know other parents at the school and the perfect way to be involved in your child’s school life. Your involvement will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping MSPCS, and that at the same time you are helping those that matter most in your life… your children.


To this end, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the PA Officers with your suggestions, comments or questions.  We want to hear from you!  Together, we can make this another amazing year at MSPCS.
