April 11th we will be hosting our first formal Student Gallery Night at the elementary school.
Student Gallery Night is modeled after blockbuster museum exhibitions that require timed tickets and after gallery receptions. Families are asked to dress up. They will start out in Fellowship Hall where there will be a slideshow explaining the art program and showcasing students making art. Families will receive a numbered ticket; numbers will be called when each group is allowed to enter. Families will view the work upstairs and be directed to the gallery by student docents. Families will have the opportunity to participate in a student-led art activity and enjoy refreshments.
Students and staff have collaborated to create this evening event for your enjoyment. In art class, the children work hard to express their unique ideas, to investigate, collaborate, and learn new techniques. These skills foster creativity and dispositions towards ways of thinking that translate to other disciplines.
