The Name Jar is a book about staying try to yourself. The main character is a young Korean girl named Unhei. She moves to America and goes to school. No one at school can pronounce her name. So Unhei decides she’s going to change her name.
Her classmates come up with names and puts them in a jar. Unhei has to pick one. In the end, Unhei remembers that her name means something. It means grace. Her mother and grandmother went to a Korean master to find the name. She knows deep down that she belongs with her real name.
