Each summer, Miami Shores Presbyterian Church (MSPC) hosts an amazing Vacation Bible School. Our series of environmentally friendly VBS started three years ago with the Parable of the Sower. Campers learned about plants and growing. We marked that year by planting a mango tree. The following year campers learned about the importance of water. Campers collected donations to support a mission to buy Life Straws for people who don’t have access to potable water. Last year they learned about the significance of the sun and cooked on a huge solar cooker.
This is year we’re learning about the wind! During the 5-day VBS, we’ll take a look at the wonderful promise of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Just what or who is the Holy Spirit? This question and many more will be uncovered during RENEW: WIND. There will be games, crafts, snacks, science experiments and much more! We will end our VBS on Friday with a Splash Day during camp. Later that evening the Family Ministries Team will host a Family BBQ and the entire community is invited!
The fun begins on Monday, July 11th and runs all week long from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Children ages 4 through entering 5th grade in Fall 2016 are invited to register as campers. There is a $10 registration fee and $10 for the camp shirt. An aftercare option until 5:30 PM is available at a nominal fee through MSPCS Summer Camp. To register as a camper, volunteer, or donate, visit our church website or email Catherine Woods at cwoods@mspcs.net.
